Spiral steel pipe, also known as spiral submerged arc welded steel pipe, is a type of steel pipe produced by taking hot-rolled steel strip coil as raw material, curling it into shape at room temperature through a spiral forming machine, and then completing the welding process using double-sided submerged arc welding technology. Here is a detailed introduction to the production process of spiral steel pipe:
Raw Material Preparation: High-quality hot-rolled steel strip coil is selected as the raw material, along with auxiliary materials such as welding wire and flux.
Uncoiling and Straightening: After uncoiling the hot-rolled steel strip, it is passed through straightening equipment to achieve a flat state, meeting the requirements for subsequent curling forming.
Edge Preparation: Necessary treatments are carried out on both sides of the steel strip, such as milling and pre-bending, to ensure proper edge fit and weld quality during curling forming.
Curling Forming: The processed steel strip is curled into a tubular structure through a curling forming machine. During the curling process, the curling speed and angle need to be strictly controlled to ensure that the diameter and wall thickness of the steel pipe meet design requirements.
Welding: Double-sided submerged arc welding technology is used to weld the curled steel pipe. During the welding process, parameters such as welding current, voltage, and welding speed need to be strictly controlled to ensure weld quality and strength.
Weld Inspection and Defect Repair: The weld is inspected both online and offline to ensure it is free of defects. If any defects are found, they must be repaired or removed.
